ABOUT OSUN STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
The Oyo (now Osun) State College of Education, Ila-Oragun was established as a campus of Oyo (now Osun State College of Education, Ilesa in 1979 by the then Military Administrator of Oyo State, Brigadier (now Rtd.) Major General Paul Tarfa. The College started on the campus of the defunct Ila Progressive Commercial College with Dr. S. O. Omotoso as the Head of Campus. The campus opened with 150 students and five (5) staff members, three academic and two administrative.
To expand the frontier of knowledge through provision of teaching & learning To produce teachers who are worthy in character with sound judgement To contribute to transformation in the society through creativity and innovation To serve as a dynamic custodian of society’s moral values and thus sustain its integrity
To train middle/high level manpower for the teaching profession, undertake research and render community services

My pleasure welcoming all students into this great institution, Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun. The College was established on the 25th September, 1979 as a Campus of Oyo now (Osun) State College of Education, Ilesa with the aim of training quality teachers to acquire qualifications in Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Degree. Over the years, the College has maintained her academic integrity in turning out quality and highly qualified teachers in Education, Science, Arts, Social Sciences, Vocational and Technical Programmes.
A good education is everyone’s right. OSSCEILA IS 44 YEARS+
